Peanutbutter sauce, dutch style
(Serves the whole family :)
1 jar of peanut butter (here that would be 400 gram)
1 small onion
1/4 tsp of 'trassi' (indonesian stuff: dried & fermented shrimps,
comes in small brown blocks and smells yukky)
1/2 tsp garlic powder or a clove fresh, chopped
half the pb jar of milk
1-2 tbs. sweet soy sauce
1 small red pepper or some hot chili sauce
Chop up the onion *really* fine.
Heat some oil in a small pan, fry the onion and the trassi (press
it between your fingers to make small chunks). Fry both for 3-4
minutes until onion is tender and trassi is gone (melted).
Put in the chopped up pepper (wait with chili sauce if you have
that), put in the garlic (powder), fry some more.
Put in the peanut butter and let it melt.
Add the milk and heat.
Add soy sauce to taste (add the chili sauce).
Great with fries!
If you let it stand for a few minutes, oil will start floating
to the top. Just stir again and it's gone.
Enjoy!
